COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Track & Field freshman Chris Conrad (O'Fallon, Ill.) is set to run at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships Saturday in Bloomington, Ind. Conrad will run in the 800m run final at 5:30 p.m. (CT), with the top-two finishers earning a trip to Finland to represent Team USA at the IAAF World U20 Championships in July.
The meet will be streamed through USATF.TV for a fee, while live results will be available at flashresults.com.
Conrad, the 2017 800m Illinois State Champion, excelled for Mizzou in the 800m run during his freshman campaign. The Tiger freshman ended his outdoor season on a high note, as he scored in 800m run at the SEC Outdoor Championships (May 13) and qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary (May 24). Conrad's season-best time of 1:48.68 in the SEC final earned him a fifth-place finish. Conrad just narrowly missed qualifying for the 800m final at the SEC Indoor Championships (Feb. 24), as his time of 1:51.38 was the 10th-fastest preliminary time.
Conrad will have the program top-10 lists in his sights as he continues to run for Mizzou, as his season-best 800m times of 1:49.84 (indoor) and 1:48.68 (outdoor) are both less than a second from cracking Mizzou's top-10. The current 10th-fastest times are 1:49.05 for the indoor 800m run and 1:47.99 for the outdoor 800m run.
