COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball continued its exceptional success in the classroom with a cumulative 3.56 grade point average over the recent Spring 2018 semester.
"We're very proud of our academic performance," Mizzou Volleyball head coach Wayne Kreklow said. "To achieve this level of success in the classroom is outstanding, but when you combine it with a Sweet 16 appearance and a national ranking last season, it's truly remarkable. It speaks volumes about the work ethic and commitment to excellence of our student-athletes. It also reflects well on our academic support staff and we're all very appreciative of the outstanding services they provide."
The Tigers have exceeded a 3.50 team GPA in four consecutive Spring semesters at the University of Missouri. Additionally, under Wayne and Susan Kreklow, Mizzou has surpassed a 3.0 collective GPA in 14 of its past 15 Spring semesters.
Over the recent Spring 2018 semester, two Tigers produced a perfect 4.0 GPA, six student-athletes posted a GPA between 3.50-3.99 and three individuals finished with a GPA between 3.00-3.49.
Mizzou Volleyball has regularly enjoyed high academic success rates in the classroom over the years. Earlier this month, the Tigers registered a perfect 1,000 Academic Progress Rate (APR) score. Mizzou has garnered the distinguished honor in each of the past three school years, beginning with the 2014-15 academic semesters.
A team's APR score accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of a respective program's academic performance.
In February, Mizzou Volleyball had an incredible nine of its 13 student-athletes receive 2017 Fall Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll recognition. Collectively, the Tigers produced a stellar 3.53 team GPA over their Fall 2017 semester.
Historically, Mizzou has surpassed a 3.0 team GPA in 24 of its past 28 combined Fall and Spring semesters at the University of Missouri.
