#ShowMe Mizzou Game Notes
Series History vs. Georgia
- Mizzou trails in the all-time series over Georgia, 7-5.
- In the teams' last meeting, the Bulldogs tallied a series sweep over the Tigers at University Field in Columbia, Missouri (April 8-10, 2016). Georgia dominated the weekend series from the get-go, outscoring Mizzou, 28-7.
- Mizzou last visited Athens, Georgia, for a three-game series from April 3-5, 2015. The Bulldogs took two of three from the Tigers after Mizzou initially tallied a win in the series opener.
Tigers Conclude Series vs. No. 13 LSU with Walk-Off Win
- The Tigers enter this weekend on a high note, coming off arguably their top victory this season. In its series finale against No. 13 LSU (March 31), Mizzou produced all five of its runs in the final two innings of play, including four runs in the bottom of the seventh.
- Junior Regan Nash's walk-off hit with two outs in the seventh secured a 5-4 comeback series finale victory over the nationally ranked Tigers. LSU's Carley Hoover cruised through the first six innings of play, limiting Mizzou to only one run on two hits. Momentum changed for the host Tigers in their final at bat however, as Hoover hit a batter and walked three-straight to set up the eventual walk-off single by Nash.
- Saturday marked Mizzou's first walk-off win this year since March 4 against Creighton. The Tigers' last "true" walk-off triumph was March 3 against Southeastern Louisiana, as Kolby Romaine launched a two-run home run with the score tied at four apiece in the eighth inning.
- It also marked Mizzou's second top 25 ranked win of the season, joining its first accomplishment on March 17 against No. 20 Mississippi State.
Kessinger Delivering in SEC Play
- Cayla Kessinger continued her strong play in SEC games this season, clubbing a pair of solo home runs against No. 13 LSU this past weekend. While she missed three conference matchups due to injury, the Saugus, California, native has still hit .387 (12-for-31) with six runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and three RBI across nine contests.
- She paces Mizzou hitters in SEC only games in runs (six), hits (12), home runs (two) and total bases (20).
