Vivien Ábráham Signs Letter of Intent With Mizzou Tennis

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Hungarian tennis phenom Vivien Ábráham (Budapest, Hungary) has signed a National Letter of Intent to enroll at the University of Missouri and play tennis for Mizzou beginning in the 2018-19 academic year, as announced today by Head Coach Colt Gaston.

"We are very excited about the addition of Vivien to the Tiger family," Gaston said. "She is a great kid that works hard on and off the court, and I know she will impact our program right away. Her movement for a 6'2" tennis player is extremely good, and I truly believe the sky is the limit for her."

Ábrahám has been among the top-10 Hungarian juniors for several years, and was the U18 national champion in doubles. She also has been a U18 singles finalist, and U16 doubles finalist, and has international juniors experience. Ábráham also advanced to the Hungarian national open doubles semifinal in 2015, and this year did the same to the singles quarterfinals.

"I chose Mizzou because of the great opportunities both in tennis and academically," said Ábráham, "and you'll live here for four years, so having nice people around you might be just as important. I believe I found it, and I can't wait to get started. GO TIGERS!"

Ábrahám joins fellow signee and Japanese standout Risa Fukutoku on Mizzou's campus this fall. For all the latest on Mizzou Tennis, stay tuned to MUTigers.com and follow the team on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
