COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Men's Golf senior Hayden Buckley (Belden, Miss.) has been named to the Spring Watch List for The Fred Haskins Award, presented by Stifel, which is the prestigious annual honor given to the nation's best college golfer, as voted by players, coaches and media.
Winners of past Haskins Awards includes notable names, such as Tigers Woods, Phil Mickelson, Luke Donald and Ben Crenshaw.
Buckley has been dominant throughout his final season with the Tigers, coming in at No. 3 on the award's watch list. Buckley has claimed individual championships at the Turning Stone-Tiger Invitational (Sept. 3-4), Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate (Oct. 13-15) and the SunTrust Gator Invitational (Feb. 17-18). He claimed runner-up status at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational (Oct. 29-31).
Additionally, Buckley ranks in the Top-10 nationally as an individual according to GolfStat.com. In the website's annual GolfStat Cup category, Buckley holds down the No. 2 slot, currently.
