Head coach Steve Bieser sends 20 t-shirts and 10 pairs of shoes to Houston Baseball to distribute to those in need
At 8:37 p.m. Tuesday night, Mizzou head baseball coach Steve Bieser sent out a tweet showing off all of the Mizzou Baseball Nike gear – 20 dri-fit t-shirts and 10 brand new pairs of Nike sneakers. Seeing pictures of new gear on social media this time of year is not uncommon – hundreds of teams are reporting for school and receiving their annual haul of gear. But Bieser's tweet Tuesday night was not about that; it was just another example of his steadfast commitment to excellence.

If you have paid attention to the news over the past week, you know about Hurricane Harvey and the devastation it has caused to the residents of Houston, Texas, and the surrounding areas. Bieser's tweet Tuesday was about answering the bell and helping those in the city who are in need. Houston head baseball coach Todd Whiting put out a tweet at 7:01 a.m. Tuesday imploring all college baseball coaches to send gear to the Houston Baseball program, which would then turn around and distribute all of the gear to those in need.

Bieser's Mizzou Baseball program is built on the foundation of his mantra: Commit to Excellence. One of the four cornerstones of the Commitment to Excellence is giving back to the community. This is just another example of how Bieser and his program continue to give back.
