COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Men's Basketball (7-22, 2-15) hits the road for its final game of the 2016-17 regular season, visiting Auburn (17-13, 6-11) on Saturday, March 4, for a 2:30 p.m. tipoff. Auburn dealt Mizzou a narrow 77-72 setback at Mizzou Arena on Jan. 10.
- Following its Auburn trip, Mizzou next heads to Nashville, Tenn., for the Southeastern Conference Tournament (March 8-12).
- Sophomore guard Terrence Phillips scored 15 points, but Mizzou was unable to keep pace with Texas A&M (Feb. 28), falling 60-43. Graduating Tigers senior forward Russell Woods and junior guard Trevor Glassman were honored pregame for Senior Night.
- Freshman Frankie Hughes (22 points) and junior Jordan Barnett (14 points) nearly pushed Mizzou past Ole Miss for its first road win of the season, but the Rebels outlasted the Tigers by a score of 80-77 (Feb. 25), in Oxford, Miss.
- Head coach Kim Anderson won his 300th career game as Mizzou defeated Vanderbilt, 72-52 (Feb. 11).
- The second-ever #RallyForRhyan Game, an 83-78 win vs. Arkansas (Feb. 4), raised more than $54,000 for pediatric cancer research.
- The entire 2016-17 Mizzou roster is made up of first- or second-year players. Not a single member of the Black & Gold has been with the squad for three seasons. According to KenPom.com, the Tigers rank 327th out of 351 NCAA Division I teams in terms of experience.
OPPONENT - AUBURN
- Auburn enters its matchup with Mizzou with a 6-11 record in Southeastern Conference play and 17-13 overall mark. Auburn has dropped five of its last six games heading into Saturday's game.
- Led by head coach Bruce Pearl, Auburn began the season by winning 10 of its first 12 games, including a 74-70 win over Oklahoma on Dec. 21.

PHILLIPS NAMED TO SEC COMMUNITY SERVICE TEAM
- In a continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition, the Southeastern Conference once again highlighted a Community Service Team for men's basketball for the 2016-17 season. Mizzou was represented on the team by sophomore guard Terrence Phillips (Orange County, Calif.), who has made it a priority to be involved in the local community.
- Phillips has often volunteered at local elementary schools, including spending time at day carnivals for Paxton Keeley and Shepard Boulevard schools in Columbia, Mo., during the fall.
- Phillips also participates in local reading time for area youth groups and elementary schools. He is also a frequent Children's Hospital visitor and helped instruct participants in Mizzou's first-annual Douglass Park Youth Clinic during fall of 2016.
HUGHES GETS HOT IN OXFORD
- Mizzou freshman guard Frankie Hughes (Cleveland, Ohio) had not scored in double digits for the Tigers since before conference play started (vs. Arizona, Dec. 10), but that fact did not deter Hughes on the road at Ole Miss (Feb. 25).
- Hughes scored 22 points (6-of-16 FG, 5-of-11 3PT, 5-of-6 FT) for his third game of 20-or-more points this season. His five three-pointers also matched a season-best for the freshman.
NIKKO GROWING INTO ROLE
- With a season-best 23 minutes off the bench at Ole Miss (Feb. 25), freshman forward Reed Nikko (Maple Grove, Minn.) began to show his full capabilities as a post presence for the Tigers. Nikko yanked down a season-high nine rebounds to go along with eight points.
- Nikko's shot-blocking ability has also been on display. The Minnesota native has a swat in four of the last five games, including two at Ole Miss (Feb. 25) and vs. Alabama (Feb. 15). His 17 blocks this season rank as the eighth-best total recorded by a Mizzou freshman, all-time.
LAST TIME VS. AUBURN
- Junior forward Jordan Barnett (St. Louis, Mo.) achieved his first career 20-point game in Mizzou's first meeting with Auburn this season, a home setback by a score of 77-72. The Black & Gold held a narrow one-point advantage, 35-34, at the half, but was unable to sustain its lead in second half action.
- Sophomore guard K.J. Walton (Indianapolis, Ind.) grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds in the game, surpassing his previous high of six, set twice. As a team, Mizzou recorded a season-high 51 rebounds, surpassing its previous high of 50, set against Miami (Ohio) on Dec. 6.
- Sophomore guard Terrence Phillips posted a career-high three blocks in the game. Phillips had never recorded more than one block in a game before the outing vs. Auburn.
- The matchup of head coach Kim Anderson vs. Auburn's Bruce Pearl brings together two coaches who claimed national championships at the NCAA Division II level. Anderson took the 2014 crown in his last season with Central Missouri, while Pearl won in 1995 with Southern Indiana.
SENIOR NIGHT FOR MIZZOU VS. A&M
- Mizzou honored its senior class before the Tigers faced Texas A&M on Feb. 28. Senior forward Russell Woods (Chicago, Ill.) and redshirt junior Trevor Glassman (Bedford, N.H.) were recognized as Mizzou's graduating student-athletes.
- Woods and Glassman are both completing their second seasons at Mizzou after transferring in to join the Black & Gold. Woods played two seasons at John A. Logan, a junior college in Carterville, Illinois, before joining the Tigers as a junior last season. Glassman originally walked-on at Manhattan College before transferring to Mizzou before the 2015-16 campaign.
- Managers Brandon Byer, Danny Frazier, Andrew Kimball and Daulton Speckhart were also recognized for their hard work and contributions to the program.
