COLUMBIA, Mo. – Junior Sophie Cunningham (Columbia, Mo.) scored a season-high 35 points, and Mizzou canned a season-high 15 3-pointers, to extend the Tigers' winning streak to nine games following a 78-48 win over SIUE at Mizzou Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Cunningham hit a career-high seven 3-pointers on 11-of-16 shooting and scored 30 or more points for the fifth time of her career. Her 35 points are also the best by a Southeastern Conference player this season, topping the 34 scored by South Carolina's A'ja Wilson vs. Notre Dame on Nov. 26.
Turning Point
After both teams started out cold from the floor -- Cunningham's 3-pointer on Mizzou's opening possession was the only bucket for either team in the game's first 15 shots -- the Tigers (9-1) stretched their lead to 10 on a 3-pointer from sophomore Jordan Roundtree (St. Louis, Mo.) near the end of the opening quarter. Mizzou held SIUE to just 18.8-percent shooting (3-for-16) in the game's first 10 minutes. The Tigers held the Cougars (3-5) to their worst shooting night of the season at 25.8 percent (16-of-62).
Top Tigers
- Cunningham had her best scoring night since a 36-point outburst vs. Texas A&M on Jan. 19, 2017. She owns the Mizzou single-game scoring record with 42 vs. Wake Forest on Nov. 22, 2015.
- Sophomore Amber Smith (Shreveport, La.) tied her career-high with a game-high five assists (Western Kentucky, Nov. 10).
- Redshirt senior Jordan Frericks (Quincy, Ill.) pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to pick up her second double-digit rebound game of the season (17 vs. Quinnipiac).
- Roundtree tallied career highs in points (nine) and 3-pointers (three).
- Sophomore Hannah Schuchts (Tallahassee, Fla.) hit two 3-pointers in a game for the first time in her career.

- Mizzou's 15 3-pointers are the most since hitting 16 vs. Lamar on Dec. 20, 2015, and the second time this season the Tigers have hit 10 or more treys (10 vs. Kansas State on Nov. 30).
- It's also the second-most 3-pointers by an SEC team this season (17, Florida vs. Savannah State on Nov. 23).
