COLUMBIA. Mo. - Mizzou Men's Basketball took the court Saturday afternoon for a fan base that has excitedly waited for its first opportunity to see first-year head coach Cuonzo Martin's 2017-18 squad in action.

With an intrasquad hotshot competition with the Mizzou Women's Basketball program, as well as a dunk contest preceding his squad's scrimmage at Mizzou Arena, Martin liked what he saw most from the many Black & Gold supporters who crowded into the building.

"The thing you try to get from a scrimmage like this is the fan energy; to give your fans what they've been looking for and what they've been anticipating for a while," Martin said. "I thought our fans were excited to see our guys, and for me, that was the most important thing."

For the dunk contest, it came down to a three-way finale between senior forward Jordan Barnett (St. Louis, Mo.), freshman forward Michael Porter, Jr. and junior forward Kevin Puryear (Blue Springs, Mo.). Porter, Jr., took home the title with an impressive between-the-legs, behind-the-head reverse slam.
