
Chadwick Wins Two Events During Day One Against Louisville

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Senior Michael Chadwick (Charlotte, North Carolina) won two events as the No. 6/12 Mizzou swimming and diving programs began competition Friday against No. 8/11 Louisville in a two-day meet in Louisville, Kentucky. After one day, the Cardinals lead the Tigers 118-87 on the men's side and 131-74 on the women's side.
Chadwick claimed wins in both the 100 free and 100 IM events, with times of 43.64 and 49.31, respectively. The senior is undefeated in the 100 free this season, with six wins in six meets.
All diving competition were contested on Friday, with Mizzou earning top honors on three events. Redshirt senior Lauren Reedy (Rochester Hills, Michigan) claimed her seventh event win of the season with a victory on 1-meter, where she tallied 314.40 points. She also took second on 3-meter after a score of 317.55.
Junior Hunter Fritter (Houston, Texas) and sophomore Kyle Goodwin (Aurora, Colorado) swept the men's diving competition as each picked up an event title. Fritter claimed first on 1-meter with a 323.48, while Goodwin was the highest scorer on 3-meter after a round of 344.25.
Senior Katharine Ross (Des Moines, Iowa) was Mizzou's other winner during the day, with a first-place finish in the 100 IM after touching in 56.38. Ross also placed second in the 200 breast in a time of 4:14.87.
Other Tigers who earned second-place finishes included freshman Nick Alexander (Crestwood, Missouri) in the men's 400 IM, junior Sharli Brady in the women's 400 IM, sophomore Courtney Evensen (Golden Valley, Minnesota) in the women's 500 free, senior Carter Griffin (Parker, Colorado) in the men's 200 back, senior Nadine Laemmler (Wackersdorf, Germany) in the women's 200 back, senior Andrew Sansoucie in the men's 100 fly and senior Fabian Schwingenschlogl (Nuremberg, Germany) in the men's 200 breast.
The Tigers return for day two action on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 10 a.m. CT.
