2017-18 Schedule

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Home matches against seven teams that finished in the top 50 in the country last year, including defending SEC Champion Vanderbilt, highlight the 2017-18 Mizzou Tennis schedule, as announced this afternoon by Head Coach Colt Gaston.

The Tigers will face a total of 14 opponents who were ranked in the final Oracle/ITA Women's National Team poll last May, including Mizzou's first dual-match road test on Jan. 26 at Cornell.

"The SEC schedule continues to be one of the strongest in the country and I believe our non-conference schedule is one that will challenge the girls to help prepare them for battle against the best of the best," Gaston said. "We are very excited to have 18 home matches this season and cannot wait to see our amazing fans at the Mizzou Tennis Complex in January!"

The Tigers open the 2017-18 schedule off the mainland, as they begin play at the Puerto Rico Fall Classic in Palmas del Mar, P.R., from Sept. 15-17. The team then returns home the following weekend (Thu.-Sat., Sept. 21-23) to host the Mizzou Invite. The Tigers will welcome Wichita State, Kansas State and Memphis at the Mizzou Tennis Complex for that tournament.

Mizzou will compete in four other fall invitationals: The ITF 25K Pro event (Sept. 24-26) in Stillwater, Okla.; The ITA All-American Pre-Qualifying (Oct. 1-9) in Pacific Palisades, Calif.; the ITA Central Regionals (Oct. 20-24) in Lawrence, Kan.; and the ITF 25K Pro event (Nov. 3-6) in Norman, Okla.

The spring season begins with a home doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 20, vs. SEMO and Central Arkansas, before the Tigers go on a five-match road trip on the East Coast. The aforementioned Jan. 26 Cornell dual begins the road swing, which includes matches vs. Army and Binghamton in Ithaca, N.Y., on Jan. 28. The stretch concludes with a Feb. 3 doubleheader at Virginia Tech and vs. Radford.

The Tigers begin a pivotal 11-match homestand beginning Feb. 10 vs. South Dakota State and Tulane, and wraps up with Mizzou's first three Southeastern Conference matches of the season vs. Arkansas (March 2), defending SEC champion Vanderbilt (March 9), and Kentucky (March 11).

Mizzou alternates road and home weekends of competition in SEC play the rest of the season, wrapping up the regular season on April 14 at Georgia. The Tigers' home finale is April 8 vs. Alabama. The 2018 SEC Tournament will take place in Knoxville, Tenn., from April 25-29 and the NCAA Tournament will begin May 11.
