INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Four members of the Mizzou women's diving team will compete in this weekend's 2017 USA Diving World Championships Individual Trials at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Alexa Beckwith (Denver, Colorado), Kendra Kieser (Plano, Texas), Madeline McKernan (Montgomery, Texas) and Lauren Reedy (Rochester Hills, Michigan) will all compete in the senior women's 3-meter competition, which starts on Saturday, May 20.
The meet serves as qualification for this summer's FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. To qualify, divers must finish in the top two of each event, have a diving list with a degree of difficulty (DD) of at least 14.8 and record a cumulative score of 855 or more points. Reedy, who has the highest DD in the women's 3-meter field (15.50), is the only Tiger who meets the degree of difficulty requirement. Additionally, Reedy already qualified to compete at the World Championships after making the U.S. team in mixed sychronized 3-meter with diving partner Briadam Herrera in March.
Prelims of women's 3-meter is slated to start on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET (9 a.m. CT). Semifinals are scheduled for 5 p.m. ET (4 p.m. CT) on Saturday, with finals set for Sunday at 2 p.m. ET (1 p.m. CT).
