COLUMBIA, Mo. -  Mizzou Athletics is excited to announce that more than $54,000 was raised for pediatric cancer research from Mizzou Men's Basketball's #RallyForRhyan Game vs. Arkansas on Saturday, Feb. 4.

The extraordinary effort from Black & Gold fans helped the day's donated total eclipse last season's first #RallyForRhyan Game. Last year, Mizzou's #RallyForRhyan Game vs. Tennessee (Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016) raised more than $50,000.

Thanks to the generous donations at the gates of Mizzou Arena, combined with t-shirt sales, proceeds were raised in support of Mizzou coaching staff member Brad Loos' 6-year-old daughter, Rhyan, who continues her fight against pediatric cancer. Rhyan was first diagnosed with neuroblastoma in October 2015, went into remission, then relapsed in November.

"To see what we have done, with the money raised, helping young children progress, that's what makes the difference right there," said Brad Loos. "That is what makes all that we have done for #RallyForRhyan worth it."

Tiger fans packed into Mizzou Arena decked in Gold and #RallyForRhyan t-shirts to see the Tigers win 83-78 over the Razorbacks on Saturday. In collaboration with the Tiger Team Store, more than 1,100 #RallyForRhyan t-shirts were sold leading up to and during Saturday's game.

Additionally, Mizzou Athletics and the University of Missouri's Greek Community partnered to combine fundraising efforts for the game. More than 600 members of Greek Life attended the game, helping raise more than a fifth of the game's total donated amount. Participating Greek chapters included: Sigma Nu, Delta Kappa Epsilon, Phi Mu, Alpha Phi, Pi Beta Phi, Chi Omega, Kappa Delta, Alpha Kappa Lambda, Beta Theta Pi, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Lambda Chi, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Gamma Sigma, Farmhouse, Gamma Phi Beta, Delta Tau Delta, Alpha Tau Omega, Tri Delta, and Alpha Epsilon Pi.

The Tiger Team Store will continue selling #RallyForRhyan t-shirts, with proceeds donated towards pediatric cancer research, throughout the month of February in-store and online.
