Freshman Amanda Kim is tied for sixth individually
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mizzou Women's Golf shot a collective 303 (+15) during the second round of the SEC Championship Saturday at The Legacy Course at Greystone Golf & Country Club. Freshman Amanda Kim (O'Fallon, Mo.) is tied for sixth individually at 1-over par after shooting a second round 75 (+3). Fellow freshman Marit Harryvan (Winschoten, Netherlands) shot her second consecutive 74 (+2), which included three straight birdies to finish her round.
"We didn't have the day we planned for but we had a solid finish on our last few holes to stay in sixth position," head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer said. "The competition at the SEC Championship is fierce and we understand that we have to minimize those errors, let go of bad shots and keep preparing for the next shot in front of us.
We were so pumped to watch Marit finish with an awesome par on 15 then go birdie, birdie, birdie. That was tremendous momentum for us going into Sunday."
Senior Michelle Butler (Dunedin, Fla.) shot a 75 (+3) on Saturday and is 7-over for the tournament. Freshman Emma Allen (Southampton, England) shot an 81 (+9) while junior Jessica Meek carded a 79 (+7).
The final round of the SEC Championship begins at 8 a.m. CT Sunday.
