@MizzouSwimDive Sweeps Duals With Kentucky, Northwestern and Southern Illinois

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Mizzou men's and women's swimming and diving teams both picked up three dual wins apiece Saturday morning as the Tigers concluded a two-day quad meet with Kentucky, Northwestern and Southern Illinois in Lexington, Ky.
The No. 17 Mizzou women picked up wins over Kentucky (199-152), Northwestern (233-95) and Southern Illinois (263-118), while the No. 20 men also notched victories over Kentucky (202-170), Northwestern (273.5-98.5) and Southern Illinois (286-83).
Senior Michael Chadwick (Charlotte, N.C.) won three events during the meet, including two victories on Saturday. Also double winners over the two days were seniors Katharine Ross (Des Moines, Iowa) and Fabian Schwingenschlogl (Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany) and junior Hannah Stevens (Lexington, Ohio).
Saturday action began with wins in the 200 medley relay by both the men and women. The women's A team of freshman Haley Hynes (Lee's Summit, Mo.), Ross, sophomore Maddie Gehrke (Clive, Iowa) and junior Rachel Hayden (Indianapolis, Ind.) touched first in 1:41.19, while the men's team of freshman Daniel Hein (Sycamore, Ill.), Schwingenschlogl, senior Andrew Sansoucie (Wentzville, Mo.) and Chadwick placed first in 1:28.16.
Chadwick won both the 50 free and 200 free events Saturday to go along with his win in the 100 free on Friday. First, he took top honors in the 50 free in 19.89. Then, in the 200 free, Chadwick clocked a 1:37.49 to lead a top four sweep for the Tigers. Senior Carter Griffin (Parker, Colo.) took second in 1:39.86, senior Nick Davis (Chesterfield, Mo.) was third in 1:40.26 and sophomore Mikel Schreuders (Oranjestad, Aruba) finished fourth in 1:40.27.
In the women's 200 free, Hayden notched her second win in as many days with a time of 1:49.88.
Stevens claimed the win in the 100 back on Saturday in a time of 53.94, to go along with her 200 back win from a day before. Senior Nadine Laemmler (Wackersdorf, Bavaria, Germany) was second in the 100 back after a swim of 54.79.
In the men's 100 back, Hein touched the wall first in 48.64, while Griffin placed third in 49.42.
The Tigers won all four breaststroke events of the meet as Ross and Schwingenschlogl both won the 200 breast on Saturday after wins in the 100 breast on Friday. Ross clocked a time of 2:15.46 on the women's side, while Schwingenschlogl won the men's 200 breast race in 1:59.92. Senior Eddie Mapel (Hinsdale, Ill.) took second in 2:03.37.
Mizzou swept the 100 fly events as well. Sansoucie winning the men's side in 47.82, while freshman Micah Slaton (Austin, Texas) took third in 49.08. In the women's race, junior Erin Metzger-Seymour (Westminster, Colo.) placed first in 55.14.
In the diving well, sophomore Kyle Goodwin (Aurora, Colo.) won the platform competition after a total of 350.75.
In the final event of the meet, the men's foursome of Chadwick, Schreuders, Sansoucie and sophomore Luke Mankus (Keller, Texas) won the 400 free relay in 2:59.43.
The Tigers return to the pool on Thursday, Nov. 10 when the teams host Georgia at Noon at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
