COLUMBIA, Mo. – Redshirt senior Lauren Reedy (Rochester Hills, Mich.) and junior Hannah Stevens (Lexington, Ohio) of the No. 18 Mizzou women's swimming and diving team earned weekly honors for their performances last week. Reedy claimed Southeastern Conference Female Diver of the Week accolades, while Stevens was named CollegeSwimming.com's SEC Women's Swimmer of the Week.
Reedy's selection from the SEC marks the second of her redshirt senior campaign and the fifth of her career.
A native of Rochester Hills, Mich., Reedy swept the springboards and broke her own school record in Mizzou's dual against No. 2 Georgia on Nov. 10. She recorded 387.23 points to win the 3-meter competition and break her own program record of 381.98, which she previously set against Alabama earlier this season. Her 3-meter tally was almost 54 points higher than the second-place finisher. Reedy also took top honors on 1-meter after a six-dive round of 299.55 for her fourth event title of the season.
Stevens clocked the fastest and third-fastest backstroke times in the nation last week as she represented Team USA in the 2016 College Challenge, Nov. 12-13, in Indianapolis, Ind. At the meet, she swam a personal best 51.18 in the 100 back leadoff leg of the 400 medley relay to notch the fastest time in the country this season, more than half a second better than the second-best time. She finished second in the 100 back and took third in the 200 back after a time of 1:53.30, which ranks third nationally. Additionally, Stevens swam in Mizzou's dual against Georgia on Nov. 10 and won the 100 backstroke in a time of 54.20, took second in the 200 back (1:58.13) and helped Mizzou to a win in the 200 medley relay (1:39.80).
The Tigers return to the pool for the three-day Mizzou Invite, which runs Thursday, Nov. 17 - Saturday, Nov. 19. Preliminary action will begin at 10 a.m. each day, with finals slated to start at 6 p.m.
