Tigers finish even par over 54-hole tournament

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Women's Golf won its third consecutive Johnie Imes Invitational on Tuesday by three strokes over Fresno State. The Tigers posted an even par (864: 282-292-290) 54-hole tournament, highlighted by their two-day low 282 first round.
Fresno State finished second overall, shooting 3-over (867: 291-288-288) during its 54-hole stretch. The Bulldogs put up a fight from start to finish, serving as Mizzou's toughest team competitor the entire invitational.
Junior Clara Young (North Berwick, Scotland) had an outstanding Tuesday, shooting a 3-under (69) final round with consecutive birdies on the 2nd and 3rd holes. Both freshman Jessica Yuen (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and sophomore Marit Harryvan (Winschoten, Netherlands) posted 1-under (71) final rounds.
Yuen, Harryvan and senior Jessica Meek (Carnoustie, Scotland) tallied impressive eagles on par fives throughout this afternoon's action.
Sophomore Emma Allen (Southampton, England) ended T-6th overall at this year's Johnie Imes after a stellar start to the tournament on Monday morning. Her opening round of 66 tied the lowest individual first round score in tournament history.
Yuen recorded a solid end to her second collegiate tournament with an overall score of even par (216: 73-72-71). The first-year Tiger placed T-8th overall in the individual standings. Sophomore Cayce Hendrickson (Benton, Ky.) also placed in the Top 20 individual rankings, finishing T-19th overall with a 3-over (219: 71-74-74) tournament.
Mizzou's individual competitors had a strong two days at this year's Johnie Imes. Freshman Cherise Otter's (Bloomington, Ind.) tournament-low 69 first round keyed an overall 4-over (220: 69-72-79) tournament. Otter was one of six Tigers to place Top 25 overall in individual standings.
Harryvan, participating as an individual this tournament, T-8th overall after shooting an even par (216: 74-71-71). Sophomore Amanda Kim (O'Fallon, Mo.) finished T-12th after firing a 1-over (217: 72-70-75) over her two-day stretch.
