COLUMBIA, Mo. –Mizzou Volleyball (17-3, 8-0 SEC), winners of 12 consecutive matches, concludes its quick two-match homestand on Sunday, Oct. 23, against No. 21 Kentucky. The Tigers and Wildcats enter Sunday with perfect 8-0 Southeastern Conference records, possessing the last remaining undefeated marks in conference action this season.
First serve at the Hearnes Center is scheduled for 1 p.m. (CT) and the match will broadcast live on SEC Network.
Series Snapshot vs. Kentucky
- Kentucky leads the all-time series, 4-3.
- The series is tied in all-time matches played in Columbia, Mo., 1-1.
- In the last meeting, Mizzou claimed a 3-2 victory over Kentucky on Nov. 15, 2015, in Lexington, Ky.
Sunday Fan Promotions at Hearnes
- First 1,000 fans in attendance receive an exclusive "Point Mizzou" fan banner.
- Free admission for fans who present a ticket stub from Mizzou Football's game vs. Middle Tennessee (Oct. 22).
- The popular Kids Karnival returns to the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse once again this season. Tigers fans are encouraged to arrive early prior to Sunday afternoon's match for new fun-filled games, bounce house and face painting.
- The 2016 Mizzou Volleyball squad will be on-court following the match to autograph this year's team poster.
Mizzou Finishes Off Season Sweep against LSU
- The Tigers claimed their 10th sweep of the season, including their 9th sweep in the current 12-match winning streak, following their 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-19) victory against LSU on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
- Mizzou displayed stellar defense all night long, as it matched its season high with 15.0 total blocks. The Tigers' strong play at the net also led to 27 LSU attack errors (.000 hitting).
- Sophomore Alyssa Munlyn paced Mizzou in individual blocking, as her nine total blocks set a new season high. Munlyn was one of five Tigers to record multiple total blocks against LSU.
- Redshirt junior Kira Larson also shined defensively, tallying five total blocks.
Kan Continues to Climb All-Time Program Lists
- Offensively Wednesday evening against LSU, senior Carly Kan recorded a team high 12 kills on .346 hitting. Kan has now tallied double-digit kills 13 times this year, including six occurrences in SEC action.
- The Tiger outside hitter surpassed 1,500 career kills following her standout match against the visiting Tigers. Kan's 1,510 career kills entering Sunday afternoon's match ranks 4th-most in Mizzou Volleyball history.
- Additionally, Kan's 13.5 points against LSU upped her career total to 1,712.5. That mark now ranks 6th-most in program history.
