Hine and Santos Lead @MizzouTennis at Day Two of Weinman Foundation Invitational

The No. 56 doubles team of Hine/Santos grab a doubles win, each pick up a singles win
MAUI, Hawaii – Mizzou Tennis returned to action Wednesday in the second day of competition at the Weinman Foundation Invitational in Maui, Hawaii. Senior Kelli Hine (New Braunfels, Texas) and junior Bea Machado Santos (Lisbon, Portugal) each picked up two wins on the day to lead the Tigers.
The newly appointed No. 56-ranked doubles team of Hine and Santos grabbed a win in doubles play over Barbora Michalkova and Aneta Miksovska (Washington State), 6-4. With the win, Hine and Santos improved to 7-2 overall on the season as a doubles team. Also picking up a doubles win on the day for the Tigers was freshman Clare Raley (Atlanta, Ga.) and sophomore Brianna Lashway (Bradenton, Fla.), who bested Felicity Maltby and Autumn Crossnoe, 6-4.
In singles play, Hine defeated Klara Pribylova (Hawaii) by a score of 8-5, Santos beat Trang Huynh (Washington State), 7-5, 7-6 (2), and junior Brittany Lashway (Bradenton, Fla.) defeated Pribylova, 8-6.
The Tigers will return to action for the final day of competition tomorrow, Thursday January, 7. First serve from Maui is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT / 12 p.m. HT.
