Tigers face fourth top 12 team in first six SEC contests

OPENING TIP
• Mizzou started the season 13-0 for the first time in program history with an unblemished run through nonconference play, passing the 1982-83 team that started 9-0 for the best in school annals. The Tigers' have started the SEC slate 2-3, earning victories over No. 7/6 Mississippi State on Jan. 14 and at Georgia on Jan. 7. Mizzou fell 64-52 at Arkansas on Sunday. Sierra Michaelis scored a game-high 18 points.
• The victory over Mississippi State marked the highest-ranked opponent Mizzou has defeated since upsetting then-No. 4 Baylor on Jan. 4, 2006. Sophie Cunningham led all scorers with 22 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists. Jordan Frericks scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to record her 21st career double-double, which tied Kesha Bonds (1995-99) for the second-most in program history.
• The Tigers are ranked No. 23 in the most recent Associated Press Top 25 poll, marking five consecutive weeks that Mizzou has been ranked nationally, which last occurred from Feb. 12 - March 11, 1984. When the Tigers broke into the Top 25 five weeks ago, it marked the first national ranking for the program since Jan. 9, 2006, which lasted only one week.

• The Tigers are tied for 18th nationally in rebounding margin (+8.9), rank 21st in scoring margin (+15.5), are tied for 27th in free throw percentage (74.9) and field goal percentage defense (34.9), rank 36th in field goal percentage (44.3), are tied for 43rd in 3-pointers per game (7.2) and rank 46th in scoring offense (73.6).
• Sophie Cunningham ranks 50th in the country in field goal percentage (52.6), which is seventh nationally among NCAA freshmen. She has gone 91-for-173 from the floor and 26-for-63 (41 percent) from 3-point range.
• Forwards Cierra Porter and Jordan Frericks are shooting 56.0 and 54.2 percent from the field, respectively. Mizzou's starting five is shooting 50.5 percent from the floor and 40.3 percent from 3-point range.
• Texas A&M leads the series 15-8, dating back to Big 12 Conference play. The Tigers are 2-8 all-time in College Station, which includes a 70-69 victory on Feb. 26, 2015, when Maddie Stock drained a game-winning 3-pointer with one second remaining to beat the No. 12 Aggies. Jordan Frericks finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds and two steals in that contest. She was 10-for-13 from the field in 37 minutes played.
ABOUT TEXAS A&M...
• The No. 13/12 Aggies are 13-5 overall and 3-2 during SEC play. On Sunday, Texas A&M fell 59-58 at No. 2 South Carolina. With under a second left, senior guard Chelsea Jennings (Fort Worth, Texas) tied the game on a running layup following a full-court pass. On the following play, A&M fouled and the Gamecocks converted a free throw to earn the 1-point victory.
• Senior guard Courtney Walker (Edmond, Okla.) is second in the SEC in scoring with 17.4 points per game. She leads the conference with 19.6 points per contest during league play. Walker also leads the Aggies with 5.6 rebounds per game.
• Senior forward/guard Courtney Williams (Houston, Texas) averages 12.9 points per outing.
