COLUMBIA, MO. – Mizzou Tennis senior captain Bea Machado Santos is ranked No. 36 in the Oracle/ITA National Preseason Singles Rankings, it was announced Tuesday. It's Santos' highest ever individual ranking after finishing No. 54 in the final poll of the 2016 season.

The senior has also been selected to compete in the annual Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships, which will be hosted by the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, California, for the 33rd straight year. The senior will play in the qualifying draw, which kicks off on Oct. 1. If she advances, Santos will enter the main draw from Oct. 6-9. Santos is set to be the fifth Tiger since 2012 to clinch a spot at the renowned tournament.

Santos became the first Tiger since 2003 and third in program history to represent Mizzou in the NCAA Singles Tournament after a stellar campaign last year. She knocked off six ranked opponents and claimed five Southeastern Conference victories, earning Second-Team All-SEC honors at season's end.

Santos and the Tigers will launch the 2016 fall season by hosting the fifth annual Mizzou Invitational at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City, Mo. The three-day event from Sept. 23-25 features Louisville, Nebraska and Memphis.
