COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou Track and Field program was well represented in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coach Association (USTFCCCA) Academic Honor Roll, announced by the organization last week. Both men's and women's Mizzou teams received the All-Academic Team award, while 14 student athletes, five men and nine women, earned the prestigious Academic All-American recognition.

The All-Academic team award was given to programs with at least a 3.00 cumulative team grade-point-average (GPA). The men's program was one of four SEC programs to earn the honor with an SEC-high 3.18 cumulative team GPA. The women's team was one of 12 SEC programs to receive the award with a cumulative team GPA of 3.34, the fourth-highest among SEC teams. Since the award's inception in 1995-96, the women's team has received the award every season.

In order to be named to the individual Academic All-American team, a student-athlete must have a 3.25 cumulative GPA requirement and either be ranked nationally at the end of the indoor season or have participated in the NCAA Division I Championships for the outdoor season.

Five student-athletes from the men's team; senior Sam Dickerson (Moberly, Mo.), senior Ollie Lockley (Isle of Man, Colby), freshman Matthew Ludwig (Chardon, Ohio), senior Luca Russo (Kent England) and junior Cain Winebrenner (Kansas City, Mo.) and nine from the women's team; junior Teylar Adelsberger (O'Fallon, Mo.), freshman Rayce Albino (New Berlin, Wis.), junior Lynnsey Brim (Gahanna, Ohio), junior Sandrae Farquharson (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica), junior Kaitlyn Fischer (Pevely, Mo.), freshman Jamie Kempfer (Festus, Mo.), senior Liz Reida (Springfield, Mo.), sophomore Karissa Schweizer (Urbandale, Iowa) and sophomore Valerie Thames (Milwaukee, Wis.) all received the Academic All-American honor.

In June, 53 student-athletes from the Mizzou Track & Field team were placed on the 2016 Spring SEC Honor Roll, the third-highest total among SEC Track & Field programs.
