  • Freshman RHP Megan Hensley is making her NCAA tournament debut for Louisville as the starting pitcher.
  • Junior OF Jordan McNary stole her 12th base of the season on 14 attempts in the bottom of the first.
  • Junior dp Maryssa Becker hit her 10th home run of the season in the bottom of the first inning, a new season high. It was the 21st homerun of her career.
  • Today is the 17th multi-RBI game of the season for Becker.
  • Becker finished the game with two RBI to increase her season total to 60, the most in a single season in program history.
  • Becker has now reached base in 50 of Louisville's 52 games this season.
  • Sophomore SS Sidney Melton extended her on-base streak to five games with a single in the bottom of the first.
  • Becker came into pitch after the Sugg homerun in the third inning. She pitched 5.0 innings striking out seven batters. She now has
  • Melton got her 14th multi-hit game of the season with a single in the bottom of the fifth inning.
  • Sophomore OF Nicole Pufahl hit her sixth home run of the season in the bottom of the sixth inning. The home run drove in two giving Pufahl 26 RBI this season, her eighth multi-RBI game this year.
  • Becker has pitched very well in this regional series. She pitched 11.1 innings giving up five earned runs while striking out 10.
  • Becker had a monstrous series at the plate. She finished the regional going 4-5 with two walks, two RBI, a run, a double and a home run.

BYU Game Notes:

  • Junior RHP McKenna Bull pitched all seven innings today. She has now pitched 263.1 innings this season, the most by any pitcher in a single season in program history. 
  • Bull struck out five batters in the game tonight, improving her season total to 285, the 7th most in the country.
  • Bull's complete game was her 30th of the season, a new single season program record.
  • Freshman C Libby Sugg extended her on-base streak to eight games with a walk in the top of the first inning.
  • Sophomore OF Alexa Strid collected her 21st RBI of the season on a sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning scoring senior OF Gordy Bravo, her 35th run scored this year.
  • The run scored by Bravo was her 140th career run scored, seventh most in program history.
  • Sophomore OF Caitlyn Larsen collected her first career NCAA tournament hit in the top of the second inning.
  • Junior SS Lauren Bell extended her on base streak to five games with a single in the top of the third.
  • Sugg hit her team leading 18th home run of the season in the top of the third. 18 home runs are seventh most in a single season in program history
  • Sugg drove in five runs today, a career high, adding to her team leading RBI total (58). Her 58 RBI are 10th most in a single season in program history.
  • This is the eighth game with three or more RBI for Sugg, tied for the most on the team with junior 1B Ashley Thompson.
  • Bravo collected her 15th multi-hit game of the season with a single in the top of the fourth. She finished the day with three hits, her third three hit game of the season and her team leading 13th of her career.
  • Senior 3B Coco Bond collected her seventh multi-hit game of the season with a single in the top of the sixth inning.
  • Bell now has 16 multi-hit games thanks to her 2-for-3 performance tonight.
  • Larson collected her seventh multi-hit game of the season with a single in the top of the seventh.
