COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Tennis junior Cassidy Spearman (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) has been named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, announced by the conference office Tuesday morning. Spearman has amassed over 40 hours of community service throughout the 2015-16 academic year.
The California native has had a very positive effect on the Columbia community since coming on campus prior to the 2013-14 school year, volunteering at the Thompson Center for Autism, Mid-Missouri Food Bank, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Spearman has also helped organize a blanket drive and teach at tennis clinics, along with being involved with Mizzou Moves, Tiger Treat, Starlight Reading, Caleb's Pitch, and Girl Scout Love Yourself Day.
Spearman was named team captain prior to the beginning of the season and has recorded 29 wins on the court this season, 18 in doubles play and 11 in singles play.
