COLUMBIA, Mo. - Freshman Morgan Porter (Overland, Mo.) of the No. 15 Mizzou gymnastics team claimed Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week honors, the league announced on Tuesday (March 8). Porter is the third Tiger ever to claim the award, joining sophomore Shauna Miller (Jan. 13, 2015) and freshman Britney Ward (Jan. 26, 2016)

Porter put together one of the best individual performances in program history against No. 9 Arkansas on March 4. The freshman won four titles and tied the second-highest all-around total in Mizzou history with a career-best 39.675 in the meet against the Razorbacks. The score is also tied as the sixth-highest all-around total in the nation this season and second-best among SEC gymnasts.

In addition to her all-around win, Porter also claimed top honors on floor (9.950), beam (9.950) and bars (9.925), all of which set or tied personal-highs. Her beam score of 9.950 ranks tied for fourth all-time at Mizzou, while her bars and floor scores were good enough to tie her for fifth in program history. Porter, who has now recorded a 9.950 on floor three times in her freshman campaign, also scored a 9.850 on vault in the meet.

Over the last three meets, Porter has recorded all-around scores of 39.675, 39.450 and 39.425, which rank first, third and fourth on Missouri's freshman list. She now leads the Tigers with 11 total titles on the season, including four on vault, three in the all-around, two on both bars and floor and one on beam.

Mizzou concludes the regular season on Friday, March 11 when the team travels to Kalamazoo, Mich., to take on Western Michigan at 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. CT).
