Blair Elmore Named to SEC Community Service Team

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Senior Blair Elmore of the Mizzou gymnastics team was named to the 2016 Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Community Service Team, the league office announced on March 18.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Senior Blair Elmore of the Mizzou gymnastics team was named to the 2016 Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Community Service Team, the league office announced on March 18. 

Elmore has been an active member of the Columbia community since she arrived at Mizzou in 2012. In her four years, she has volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House, Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri and the Race for the Cure. Additionally, Elmore took part in Our Lady of Lourdes Read-A-Thon, Special Olympics Food Drive, Mizzou Moves, Walk to End Alzheimer's, Tiger Treat, Malted Mile, Del Mar Cobble Reading Day, Voluntary Action Center Adopt a Family, Reach Out and Read and National Student-Athlete Day as a Special Olympics buddy. In addition to her time in the community, Elmore is the current secretary of the Mizzou Student-Athlete Advisory Council and was recently inducted into Mizzou '39, which recognizes 39 University-wide seniors for their academic achievement, leadership and service to Mizzou and the community.

The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 21 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight a student-athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Joining Elmore on the team are Lauren Beers (Alabama), Heather Elswick (Arkansas), Kait Kluz (Auburn), Grace McLaughlin (Florida), Brandie Jay (Georgia), Tiara Phipps (Kentucky) and Ashleigh Gnat (LSU).
