When Mizzou Football head coach Barry Odom left Memphis to become the defensive coordinator at Mizzou for the 2015 season, he quickly identified Memphis CB coach Ryan Walters as someone who he would like to take with him to Mizzou. Since that time, Walters has quickly placed his name among other rising stars in the college football coaching circle.
At 30 years old, Walters' outstanding work on the field, as well as in recruiting circles, earned him Co-Defensive Coordinator distinction from Coach Odom this off-season.
During the spring, Walters looks to coach a group of Mizzou safeties who return plenty of experience and talent, including starting SS Anthony Sherrils. Walters' impact on the Mizzou secondary should once again help Mizzou's defense rank among the nation's elite in 2016.
Mizzou Network gives Mizzou fans an in-depth look at Walters and his coaching style in a Mic'D up feature below.
