Mizzou Football was well-represented in Super Bowl 50 Sunday night as former #DLineZou standouts Kony Ealy (2010-13) and Shane Ray (2011-14) had tremendous outings on the biggest stage in professional football. The combined line for the #MizzouMade standouts: six tackles, three sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, three quarterback hurries and a pass deflection.
Ultimately, Ray's Broncos edged Ealy's Panthers, 24-10, as Ray added a Super Bowl title to his résumé in his rookie season. Below are the stat lines for each player.
- Kony Ealy: 4 tackles (three solo), 3 sacks, 1 interception, 1 pass deflection, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and two quarterback hurries
- Shane Ray: 2 tackles, forced fumble, quarterback hurry
Ealy's performance obviously drew the attention of nearly every national media outlet as the second-year starter turned heads on Sunday with a Super Bowl record three sacks, an interception and a forced fumble. Tweets about Ealy's performance along with congratulatory messages for Ray are below.
