COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball increased its 2016 roster with the addition of transfer Paige Perego (Ballwin, Mo.), as announced Friday by head coach Wayne Kreklow. Perego, a 6-2, outside hitter, will join Mizzou after playing with Missouri State during the 2015 season.
In her freshman campaign at Missouri State, Perego appeared in 19 matches with nine starts. Over 55 sets played, she tallied 68 kills, four assists, 16 digs, 28 total blocks and 84.0 points. Perego comes to Columbia, Mo., as a sophomore and will be eligible to play in 2016 with three years of eligibility remaining.
"We are excited to have Paige join the Mizzou Volleyball family," Kreklow said. "She brings good size and physicality to the squad, which is important with the departure of Regan Peltier to graduation. Paige is also a great student and will continue our tradition of academic excellence inside the program. I believe that Paige will be a great addition to Mizzou Volleyball and we're excited for her to get started."
Perego enjoyed a standout high school career with Parkway West High School in Chesterfield, Mo., prior to her first year at Missouri State. During her 2014 senior year, Perego produced 383 kills (5.25 kills per set) en route to AVCA Under Armour Honorable Mention All-American recognition.
The Ballwin, Mo., native also earned First Team All-State honors following her impressive senior campaign. Perego was named a Second Team All-State honoree her junior season and paced the Suburban Central Conference in kills and aces both seasons.
Perego garnered MVP honors in each of her final three seasons for Parkway West. She also earned All-Conference and All-District accolades each year and added an All-Region nod her junior and senior seasons.
Academic success was also prevalent for Perego as she received scholar-athlete recognition in all four years at Parkway West.
