
Mizzou Volleyball Opens Season With Black & Gold Next Thursday

Columbia College women's volleyball set to join Mizzou for youth clinic prior to scrimmage
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball kicks off the 2015 season on Thursday, Aug. 20 at the Hearnes Center with its annual Black & Gold Scrimmage. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Prior to the scrimmage, the 2015 VolleyZONE Black & Gold Youth Clinic is set for 4:45 – 5:45 p.m. with registration beginning at 4:15 p.m. in the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse. The clinic is free of charge to all youth guests entering grades K-8.
Players and coaches from Columbia College volleyball will also serve as instructors at the youth clinic. The Cougars volleyball program is led by head coach Melinda Wyre-Washington, who was a team captain and All-Big Eight selection for Mizzou Volleyball from 1990-93.
Participants in the youth clinic will have the opportunity to improve their volleyball skills while being instructed by the 2015 Mizzou Volleyball and 2015 Columbia College volleyball teams. To pre-register for the clinic, please contact Jillian Land (jllpn6@mail.missouri.edu), and provide the attending child's name, grade in school, mailing address along with the parent/guardian's phone and email address.
Children who attend the youth clinic and Black & Gold scrimmage will be treated to free pizza prior to the clinic and free cake following the Mizzou scrimmage. All fans in attendance are invited to an autograph session with the 2015 Mizzou Volleyball team following the scrimmage.
