
Tiger Divers Shine at USA Diving Preliminary Championships

Five current and incoming Tigers qualified for USA Diving Nationals
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Current and incoming members of the Mizzou diving team competed at USA Diving National Preliminary Zone Championships recently, with five earning qualifying spots for Augusts' 2015 AT&T USA Diving Nationals Championships in Orlando, Fla.
Competing at the Zone D Championships last weekend in Iowa City, Iowa, Lauren Reedy (Rochester Hills, Mich.) swept the senior women's 1-meter and 3-meter springboards. She notched a five-dive finals tally of 321.65 to take the 3-meter title, while scoring 259.2 in 1-meter finals to take first in that event as well. Reedy used the Zone Championships as a warmup for the World University Games, which begins in Gwangju City, Korea on Friday.
Also advancing out of Zone D were current Tigers Kendra Kieser (Plano, Texas) and Elliot Cecil (Fishers, Ind.) and incoming freshman Payton Conrad (Omaha, Neb.).
Kieser took second in senior women's 3-meter behind Reedy, clocking a score of 278.4 in finals. She also placed seventh on 1-meter with a total of 233.75. Elliot locked his national's spot with a fourth-place finish in senior men's 1-meter after a score of 324.25 in finals. He narrowly missed qualifying on 3-meter after taking seventh with a finals total of 315.8. Additionally, Conrad qualified for Junior Nationals with a 10th-place finish in 16-18 girls 3-meter after a score of 421.2.
Incoming freshman Kyle Goodwin (Aurora, Colo.) shined at the Zone E Championships earlier in June. Goodwin won the senior men's 3-meter crown with a finals tally of 372.7 and took sixth in senior men's 1-meter with a 279.65 to earn spots at senior nationals. He also swept all three 16-18 boys events with scores of 507.75 on 1-meter, 524.4 on 3-meter and 499.35 on platform to qualify for junior nationals.
