Tigers Drop 7-0 Contest To No. 11 Aggies

COLUMBIA, Mo. - All six Tigers fought hard in their respective singles matches Friday evening at Mizzou Tennis Complex, but visiting Texas A&M proved to be too much as they took the overall match, 7-0.
Texas A&M trotted out two nationally ranked doubles teams, and the Tigers struggled to get anything going in either contest. The Aggies' wins at court one and court two sealed the overall match's first team point.
Before the doubles clinching point occurred, Mizzou's tandem of junior Kelli Hine and sophomore Brittany Lashway were competing well and tied 5-5 with their Aggies opponents.
Moving onto singles action, the Tigers competed well in each of their six matchups but ultimately dropped each contest in straight sets.
Hine went back and forth with No. 32 ranked Rachel Pierson, claiming eight total games before dropping her match on court one. Sophomore Cassidy Spearman also played a nationally ranked opponent close, as she took seven games against No. 57 Rutuja Bhosale.
The Tigers' 2014-15 home finale is set for Sunday, April 5 against No. 25 LSU. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. (CT) at Mizzou Tennis Complex.
