Tigers Drop 7-0 Matchup At No. 44 Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. - Mizzou tennis continued Southeastern Conference play Friday afternoon at No. 44 Auburn and dropped a 7-0 contest to the Tigers. Junior Madison Rhyner and sophomore Cassidy Spearman had a strong showing in doubles action, but their match was cut short due to Auburn already clinching the team point.
The Lashway sisters teamed up for the first time in doubles action this season, and had a strong showing against the nation's No. 5 ranked duo. Brianna and Brittany were tied at five apiece, but ultimately fell 8-5 to Auburn's Burgmans and Flickinger.
Freshman Clare Raley played well in singles play despite an eventual loss. The first-year Tiger won her first set, but dropped the next two at the No. 6 matchup. Mizzou struggled to get things going in the other singles matches, as all five Tigers fell in straight sets.
Mizzou concludes their 2014-15 regular season Sunday afternoon at No. 11 Alabama. First serve at Alabama Tennis Center is scheduled for 1 p.m. (CT).
