ZOU NOTES
• Mizzou has started the season 12-0 for the first time in program history. With the win at Colorado on Dec. 12, the Tigers moved past the 1982-83 team that started 9-0 for the best in school annals.
• The Tigers moved up two spots to No. 23 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll, the highest ranking in the poll for the program since Dec. 30, 1984. The Tigers entered the AP poll at No. 25 last week, marking the first AP national ranking for the program since Jan. 9, 2006.
• Mizzou defeated Texas State 82-56 the last time out prior to the holiday break on Dec. 21. Lindsey Cunningham paced Mizzou with 14 assists, falling one shy of the school record set by Dee-Dee Polk in 1984.
• Sophie Cunningham leads the Tigers with 16.6 points per game and is second on the team with 6.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. In just her fourth career game on Nov. 22 vs. Wake Forest, Cunningham set a new school record with 42 points, which is the second-highest single-game total in NCAA Division I this season. Cunningham broke a nearly 30-year-old record of 41 points that was established by Renee Kelly on Jan. 25, 1986 vs. Oklahoma at the Hearnes Center.
NONCONFERENCE NOTABLES
• Mizzou head coach Robin Pingeton signed a new 5-year contract through the 2019-20 season that was announced on Oct. 2. She earned her 90th victory as Tigers head coach on Dec. 20 vs. Lamar.
• The Tigers rank sixth nationally in free throw shooting percentage (77.3), ninth in scoring margin (+24.8), 10th rebounding margin (+13.3), 18th in field goal percentage (46.7), 23rd in 3-pointers per game (8.3), 24th in scoring offense (79.3 points per game), 31st in scoring defense (54.6 points allowed per game) and 35th in field goal percentage defense (34.8).
• Sophie Cunningham ranks 16th nationally in free throw percentage (90.2), converting 37 of her first 41 career attempts. She is also ranked 18th in the country in field goal percentage (60.3) as she is 70-for-116 from the floor. Although she does not quite meet the minimum of two made 3-pointers per game, with two more treys, Cunningham's 3-point percentage (51.2) would rank eighth in all of Division I. She ranks 45th in the country in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.31).
• The Tigers have played Charlotte once, defeating the 49ers 80-56 on Dec. 5, 1997 at the Hearnes Center during the Mid-American Classic.
ABOUT CHARLOTTE...
• The 49ers are 7-3 overall and have won two straight at Davidson on Dec. 20 and vs. College of Charleston on Dec. 8.

• Junior guard Ciara Gregory (Jeanette, Pa.) is averaging a team-leading 16.4 points per game. She has scored in double figures eight times this season and 16 times during her career.
• Gregory ranks sixth nationally with 3.5 made 3-pointers per game. She is shooting 42 percent (35-for-84) from beyond the arc and 96 percent (27-for-28) from the free throw line.
