"We have played with a lot of energy at home because of the amount of support behind us," said senior forward Ryan Rosburg (Chesterfield, Mo.). "Fans are always standing up and cheering, and really picking us up when we are down. I think the great support the fans have shown has us playing at a different level at home."
The Tigers have beat five opponents (Wofford, UMES, Arkansas State, Northern Illinois and Omaha) at Mizzou Arena this season by an average of 10.2 points. Mizzou's largest margin of victory came against UMES on Nov. 15, when the Tigers won by 18 points, 73-55.
"When the fans get going and everyone is standing up and cheering, that encourages us to get a stop," Rosburg said. "We just try to take the energy the fans provide us and utilize it on the court."
With Mizzou's team facilities also located at Mizzou Arena, it should come as no surprise there is a comfort factor with playing at home.
"Because we practice on this court every day, we feel right at home when we play in a game," said Rosburg.
In addition to winning all five home games so far this season, the Tigers were victorious in their last two games at home last season, bringing Mizzou's home win-streak to seven.
"We keep winning at home, so I hope more and more fans come out," said Rosburg. "We love playing in front of the Missouri faithful and all the people we see on campus or in class. It's a cool environment."
The Tigers will host the Wolfpack on Saturday, Dec. 19, at Mizzou Arena. Tipoff is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., with live coverage on the SEC Network.
