COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Football was once again well represented during week seven of NFL action, as Kony Ealy, Jacquies Smith and Aldon Smith all had productive outings. Below is a look at how all of the #MizzouMade standouts fared in week seven.
Tim Barnes – C – St. Louis Rams
Barnes and the Rams fell to 4-4 on the season Sunday after losing, 21-18, to the Minnesota Vikings in overtime. Barnes' offensive line provided room for 160 rushing yards and allowed only one sack to a strong Vikings' pass rush. St. Louis will look to move above .500 when they host the Chicago Bears next Sunday.
Beau Brinkley – LS – Tennessee Titans
Brinkley snapped for two extra-points, three field goals and five punts in Tennessee's overtime victory over the Saints on Sunday. The Titans appear to be getting back on track after winning their second game of the year Sunday. Tennessee (2-6) dropped six straight games after starting out the season with a blowout victory.
Justin Britt – OL – Seattle Seahawks
Britt and the Seahawks were on bye this week. They moved into a tie for second-place in the division after St. Louis lost to the Vikings. The Seahawks can move into a tie for first-place in the NFC West with a victory this Sunday night. Britt and the Seattle offensive line will need to establish a strong presence on the ground versus a stout Arizona Cardinals defense.
Chase Coffman – TE – Tennessee Titans
Coffman did not record a reception in Tennessee's thrilling overtime victory in New Orleans on Sunday. He watched his fellow tight end, Delanie Walker, score two touchdowns on seven receptions. Tennessee will look to win its third game of the season and upset the undefeated Carolina Panthers at home next Sunday.
Chase Daniel – QB – Kansas City Chiefs
Daniel and the Chiefs had a bye on Sunday. All three of their divisional opponents lost crucial games. On Sunday, Kansas City will travel to Mile High where they will seek revenge against the Broncos, who defeated them in week one. Daniel will likely serve as the backup quarterback to Alex Smith in the matchup, which could potentially move the Chiefs into a tie for second-place in the AFC West.
Kony Ealy – DE – Carolina Panthers
Ealy and the Panthers knocked off Aaron Rodgers' Green Bay Packers, 37-29, on Sunday. Ealy recorded one sack in the contest, helping Carolina move to a perfect 8-0 on the season. The Panthers will defend their undefeated record in Tennessee this Sunday. Carolina leads the NFC South by 2.5 games.
Blaine Gabbert – QB – San Francisco 49ers
Gabbert completed 15 of 25 pass attempts for 185 yards. He threw two touchdowns and two interceptions in a 17-16 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Gabbert improved to 6-22 as a starting quarterback in the NFL. The 49ers will have a bye week this Sunday. But, Gabbert is slated to start again when the team resumes play against the Seahawks in two weeks.
Andrew Gachkar – LB – Dallas Cowboys
Gachkar recorded two tackles in Dallas' loss to the Eagles in overtime on Sunday night. Defensive captain Sean Lee went down with an injury in the loss, so Gachkar may see additional playing time going forward. The 27-33 defeat marked the Cowboys' sixth straight loss. They will travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers this Sunday.
Markus Golden – LB – Arizona Cardinals
Golden and the Cardinals had a bye on Sunday. Arizona owns a 6-2 record and stands alone atop the NFC West. They will defend their 6-2 record in Seattle on Sunday Night Football this weekend. Golden has tallied 16 combined tackles and one sack this season.
Jeremy Maclin – WR – Kansas City Chiefs
Maclin and the Chiefs had a bye this week. Maclin has returned from a concussion suffered during week six to lead the team in receiving yards. He has pulled in 42 catches for 566 yards. The 3-5 Chiefs play Shane Ray's Denver Broncos next week.
William Moore – S – Atlanta Falcons
Moore was held out in Sunday's game against the 49ers with a groin injury. He has been out the past two weeks, but has still produced 29 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble on the year.
Mitch Morse – C – Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs had a bye week this week. Morse and the Chiefs have rebounded after a tough start, currently holding a record of 3-5. Morse has helped anchor an offensive line that is ranked 12th in the NFL in rushing yards.
C.J. Mosley – DT – Miami Dolphins
Mosley did not record a tackle in the Dolphin's week nine loss against the Buffalo Bills. He has solidified his status as a veteran backup on the Miami line. He has played in all eight games for the Dolphins, producing two tackles.
Marcus Murphy – RB/PR – New Orleans Saints
Murphy returned three kicks Sunday for 82 total yards, an average of 27.33 per return. He also returned three punts for 21 yards, an average of 7 yards per return. Murphy has continued to impress as a return man for the Saints, averaging nearly 10 yards a punt return and a touchdown on the year.
Shane Ray – DE – Denver Broncos
Ray was inactive again after suffering a MCL sprain week six. He is eyeing a return in the next coming weeks. Ray's Broncos suffered their first loss of the season this Sunday to the Indianapolis Colts. defense.
Aldon Smith – LB – Oakland Raiders
In the Raiders' 35-38 loss to the Steelers, Smith tallied three tackles and a sack. Smith has continued his production on the year, currently credited with 18 tackles, two and a half sacks and three passes defended on the season.
Jacquies Smith – DE – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Smith did not play in Sunday's loss to the New York Giants, 18-32. He has been battling an ankle injury for two weeks. Smith has been very efficient this year, recording 12 tackles, five sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Sean Weatherspoon – LB – Arizona Cardinals
Weatherspoon and the Cardinals were on a bye week this week. While the Cardinals have taken the lead in the NFC West with a record of 6-2, Witherspoon has struggled to find his niche in the defense. He has four tackles on the year.
