Clark Thomas Named SEC Male Diver of the Week

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Junior Clark Thomas (Olathe, Kan.) of the Mizzou men's swimming and diving team was honored by the Southeastern Conference as the Male Diver of the Week after sweeping the springboards in a quad dual against Kentucky, Northwestern and Southern Illinois last week, the SEC announced on Tuesday (Nov. 10).

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Junior Clark Thomas (Olathe, Kan.) of the Mizzou men's swimming and diving team was honored by the Southeastern Conference as the Male Diver of the Week after sweeping the springboards in a quad dual against Kentucky, Northwestern and Southern Illinois last week, the SEC announced on Tuesday (Nov. 10).   

He has now claimed SEC Male Diver of the Week honors four times in his career, as he won the award twice in January 2015 and once in January 2014.  

Thomas won both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events in Mizzou's dual victories over the Kentucky, Northwestern and Southern Illinois Nov. 6-7 at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The senior opened the meet on Friday with a win on 1-meter with a six-round score of 258.25 to improve to 3-0 on the board so far this season. One day later, Thomas scored a season best 377.55 on 3-meter to complete the springboard sweep.

The Tigers return to the pool next weekend for the three-day Tennessee Invite, Nov. 20-22, at the Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
