COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Tennis standout Kelli Hine is set to begin play in the qualifying draw of the 2015 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, California. The event hosts the nation's top collegiate players from all over the country.
Hine, who was tabbed No. 89 in the ITA preseason singles rankings released on Sept. 15, earned a spot in the tournament's talented field after a strong junior season in the Southeastern Conference that culminated with a top-125 singles ranking last spring. The Tigers' lone senior boasts a perfect 3-0 record in fall singles play thus far following an undefeated weekend at the Mizzou Invite in Kansas City.
Hine's opening match at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships is set for 12:45 p.m. CT Tuesday afternoon. She will face Georgia's Kennedy Shaffer. If Hine wins, she will play the winner of the match between DePaul's Yuliya Shupenia and Pepperdine's Luisa Stefani later in the day.
The qualifying draw runs Tuesday thru Wednesday. Competitors in the qualifying round must win a total of three matches to clinch a spot in the main draw. For all the latest on Mizzou Tennis, stay tuned to MUTigers.com and follow the team on Twitter @MizzouTennis.
