
Mizzou Soccer Adds Molly Schneider as Assistant Coach

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Molly Schneider, who spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the Mizzou soccer team in 2007 and 2008, has rejoined the program in the same capacity, Head Coach Bryan Blitz announced on Wednesday, Jan. 21. Schneider, a former All-Big Ten first team honoree as a keeper at Minnesota, will serve as the Tigers' goalkeepers' coach.
"We're honored to welcome Molly back to the Mizzou soccer family," Blitz said. "She was a huge part of our NCAA Tournament and Big 12 championship staff during her time here. Molly also has a proven track record with goalkeepers and produced All-Big 12 and youth national team goalies. Her attention to detail and personality will be a huge addition to the staff as we strive to win our first SEC and national championships."

"I am thrilled for the chance to work toward an SEC championship with a tremendous group of student-athletes and staff on one of the best campuses in the country. Bryan has built a model program at the University of Missouri and it brings great pride to be back working alongside him. Schneider spent the 2007 and 2008 seasons as an assistant with the Tigers and was integral in helping Mizzou earn consecutive NCAA Tournament berths and claim the 2008 Big 12 Conference Tournament. The Tigers posted a combined 29-13-3 record in her two seasons in Columbia, including a school record 16 wins in 2008. During her final year at Mizzou, the posted a program record 0.8 goals against average and notched 12 shutouts. The Tigers allowed just 19 goals in their 23 games.
She comes to Mizzou from Sporting KC, where she has served as manager of camps and special projects for the past seven months. With Sporting, Schneider directed all camps, including developing curriculums, managing budgets, overseeing marketing efforts and handling all logistics. Additionally, she assisted with Sporting KC Tournaments, planned clinics and assisted with game day.
Before her time at Sporting KC, Schneider spent five seasons (2009-13) as an assistant at North Florida. With the Ospreys, she helped the program earn its first Atlantic Sun Conference Championship berth in program history in 2010, then receive conference tournament bids the following two season. In 2011 and 2012, North Florida advanced to the semifinals of the championship. Under her tutelage, keeper Megan Dorsey set the program's single season shutouts record (in Divison I competition) with seven.
She holds a USSF "C" license and an NSCAA level III Goalkeeping Diploma.
Schneider started her collegiate playing career at Milwaukee (2002-03) before spending her last two seasons at Minnesota (2004-05). She claimed All-Horizon League first and freshman team honors at Milwaukee before earning All-Big Ten first team and Soccer Buzz All-Great Lakes Region second team honors at Minnesota in 2005.
A native of Rochester, Minn., she earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science from Minnesota in 2006.
