NORMAN, Okla. - Mizzou Men's Golf senior Ryan Zech (Kearney, Mo.) and junior Wilson Sundvold (Columbia, Mo.) have been named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars, as announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
The All-America Scholar recognition is the second in a row for Zech, who was additionally a PING Golf All-American last season for his outstanding play. The honor is the first of Sundvold's Mizzou career.
While being a standout in the classroom for Mizzou, Zech additionally poured in good results on the course. Zech posted Mizzou's top score or tied for the mark in five of the team's 10 events during the 2014-15 season.
Sundvold turned in a strong junior campaign for the Tigers, completing six events as one of Mizzou's top three finishers.
Zech and Sundvold are two from a total of 206 Division I student-athletes named to the team this season. To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
