COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou tennis wraps up a long stretch away from home this weekend in the state of Mississippi, as they face No. 59 Mississippi State on Friday, March 6 and No. 17 Ole Miss on Sunday, March 8.

The Tigers and Bulldogs begin play at 2 p.m. (CT) Friday afternoon, while first serve is set for 1 p.m. (CT) Sunday afternoon against the Rebels. Fans can follow both weekend matches on Twitter (@MizzouTennis).

Mizzou opened up Southeastern Conference (SEC) play last weekend at No. 50 Arkansas. After taking two of three matches in doubles play and gaining an early 1-0 match lead, the Tigers faltered later in their singles contests and dropped the overall match.

This weekend's schedule consists of three SEC teams fighting for their first conference victories. Currently, Mizzou stands at 8-5 (0-1), Mississippi State sits at 9-3 (0-2), and Ole Miss holds an 8-3 (0-2) record.

The Tigers return home to the Mizzou Tennis Complex next weekend for a pair of conference matchups. First on Friday, March 13, South Carolina makes their way to mid-Missouri, and two days later on Sunday, March 15, the No. 2 ranked Florida Gators come to town. Respective first serves are set for 5 p.m. and 12 p.m. next weekend.

Tigers Stepping Up Doubles Play

Mizzou has shined so far in doubles play this spring, as the team has amassed an overall record of 20-9. Leading the way is the tandem of sophomores Beatriz Machado Santos and Brittany Lashway. The respective combination stands with a perfect 5-0 record this spring with all of their wins coming at the No. 3 spot.

Also shining for the Tigers is the duo of juniors Kelli Hine and Madison Rhyner. Overall, the Mizzou upperclassmen have accumulated a 4-1 record at No. 2 play.
