COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou tennis returns to the friendly confines of the Mizzou Tennis Complex this Saturday, Feb. 7 for another early season doubleheader. The Tigers are set to face IUPUI at 10 a.m. (CT), followed by a 5 p.m. (CT) matchup against Missouri State. Fans can follow both matches online with scoring updates on Twitter (@MizzouTennis).
Mizzou's Spring 2015 season is in full swing, as the team competed in two separate doubleheaders last week. Following a pair of dominating wins on Wednesday, Jan. 28, the Tigers split road contests two days later in the state of Kansas.
Junior Kelli Hine turned in a stellar week of competition for the Tigers, as she finished a combined 6-0 against members of Northern Iowa, SIU-Edwardsville, Wichita State, and Creighton. Within her outstanding week, Hine went a perfect 4-0 in No. 1 singles matches.
Mizzou (4-2) has particularly shined in singles play so far this spring season with a 21-13 record. Hine and sophomore Cassidy Spearman lead the way with four wins apiece. Not far behind are freshman Brianna Lashway and sophomore Beatriz Machado Santos, as they each sit with three wins apiece.
Following Saturday's double dip, the Tigers compete again on Feb. 14 at Colorado State. Mizzou travels to Nebraska the very next day on Sunday, Feb. 15 to round out their roadtrip.
