Tennis Begins SEC Play This Sunday At No. 50 Arkansas

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Following a successful non-conference schedule, Mizzou tennis is set to begin Southeastern Conference (SEC) play this Sunday, March 1 at No. 50 Arkansas. The Tigers and Razorbacks begin play at 12 p.m. (CT) at the Billingsley Tennis Center.

Mizzou finished their 2014-15 spring non-conference schedule with an 8-4 record. Among their eight wins, five of those came by convincing shutout fashion. Last time out on Sunday, Feb. 22, the Tigers captured an exciting 4-3 victory at Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

After her match clinching win at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, sophomore Cassidy Spearman improved her singles record to 9-2 this spring. Junior Kelli Hine also turned in a win last Sunday, advancing her spring singles record to 8-4.

The Tigers enter Sunday's matchup in Fayetteville, Ark. with a pair of rolling doubles tandems. At No. 2 doubles, juniors Kelli Hine and Madison Rhyner are a perfect 4-0, while at No. 3 doubles sophomores Beatriz Machado Santos and Brittany Lashway also sit with an unblemished 4-0 mark.

Mizzou's roster of eight players delivered impressive overall numbers during the non-conference season, finishing with a 46-24 record in singles matches and 18-8 doubles record.

Following this weekend's match at Arkansas, Mizzou then heads to No. 63 Mississippi State on Friday, March 6 and No. 15 Ole Miss on Sunday, March 8 to close out their current road trip.
