Where Are They Now: Lisa Henning

Feb. 26, 2015

ISTRES, France -- Over the next several days, MUTigers.com will take a look at former Mizzou volleyball players who have went on to play professionally overseas. Today, we look at former AVCA First Team All-American Lisa Henning, who helped guided Mizzou to a 35-1 record and the school's first ever SEC Championship in 2013. After a successful career in Puerto Rico, Henning has since moved over to Europe and has seemed to find a niche for herself in France.

A three-time All-American who is the school's career and single-season kills record holder, Henning, is successfully making a name for herself in international territories. Henning, who has been playing professionally in France since last summer, plays for Club Istres, located in Istres, France, a sea-side city just north-west of Marseille.

Since joining the team, she has become a dominant force on the court and is recognized as one of their key players. Although her team sits in ninth place, Henning has team-best 200 points this season, ranking her in the top 15 in her league. She is also hitting .360 and is one of the most dominant players in the league.

Henning leads the team in sets played, kills, attempts and service aces. She has two matches this season in which she eclipsed 20 total points and has double-digit points in eight of 17 matches as she has emerged as the team's go-to swing.

It seems that Henning has found a home in Istres and has the potential to be an impact player for years to come.
