The Tigers enter this weekend with a 7-3 record, and have won four of their last five contests. Before falling to Nebraska last Sunday afternoon, Mizzou had won four in a row and outscored their opponents 26-0 during that stretch.

Mizzou's first opponent this weekend, the University of Houston, is currently ranked No. 56 in the country according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings. Friday's matchup marks the second time this season that the Tigers have faced a top-75 ITA ranked team. The first occurred on Jan. 30 against then No. 43 ranked Wichita State.

The Tigers open Southeastern Conference (SEC) play on Sunday, March 1 at No. 38 Arkansas. Mizzou then heads to No. 71 Mississippi State on Friday, March 6 and No. 24 Ole Miss on Sunday, March 8 to close out the long stretch away from home.

Spearman and Lashway Leading Tigers In Singles

Sophomore Cassidy Spearman and freshman Brianna Lashway are both currently riding four match winning streaks in singles play. Spearman leads the Tigers with eight singles wins, and is 4-1 since moving to the No. 2 slot.

After an outstanding fall campaign, Lashway continues to impress in her first season with the black and gold as she's currently 6-1 in singles competition. The Bradenton, Fla. native has particularly shined at the No. 6 spot, recording a perfect 4-0 record so far this spring.

Mizzou Doubles Also Impressing This Spring

Five different Tiger doubles tennis teams have remained perfect so far this spring season. The combination of juniors Kelli Hine and Madison Rhyner, in addition to sophomores Beatriz Machado Santos and Brittany Lashway have each gone a perfect 3-0 in doubles play.

Other unblemished Mizzou doubles teams include senior Alex Clark and Spearman (1-0), Hine and Santos (2-0), and Spearman and Brianna Lashway (1-0).
