COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou tennis hits the road once again this weekend, as they continue their spring non-conference schedule against Colorado State and Nebraska. The Tigers and Rams meet on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. (CT) and square off against the Cornhuskers on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. (CT).
Both contests will be held at the Nebraska Tennis Complex, and can be followed online on Twitter (@MizzouTennis).
Head Coach Sasha Schmid and the Tigers are off to a 6-2 start this spring season. Last time out, Mizzou swept a home doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 7 against IUPUI and Missouri State. The Tigers took home wins in all of their matches en route to 7-0 wins in both contests.
Sophomore Beatriz Machado Santos paced Mizzou in their latest doubleheader sweep, as she went a perfect 4-0 in singles and doubles play. All eight Tiger tennis players are riding singles winning streaks, highlighted by a six game stretch from junior Kelli Hine and a five game stretch by Santos.
In doubles action, sophomore Brittany Lashway continues to post strong play for Mizzou. The Bradenton, Fla. native is a combined 5-1 in doubles with partners Santos and sophomore Cassidy Spearman.
Following this weekend's trip to Lincoln, Neb., the Tigers have just two remaining spring non-conference matchups. Next weekend, Mizzou heads south to Houston, Texas for matches against Houston and Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
