THE TIGERS

Mizzou is coming off an exciting early-season run, highlighted by three school record performances, eight new All-Time top Ten marks, and 39 personal records (PRs).  All nine record book performers will be donning the black and gold this weekend, including the newest addition to the record board, sophomore LaQuisha Jackson

Jackson tore through the 60-meter dash record in her Tiger debut a few weeks ago, clocking 7.44 at the Border Battle in Iowa City, Ia.  She broke through that time twice more the following weekend on her home track during the Missouri Invitational, hitting 7.43 and 7.42 in the preliminary and final.  She moved up to the 400-meter dash last weekend in Kentucky, but will return to the 60m dash, along with the 200m dash, this weekend.

She will be joined by four of her fellow school record holders, including junior Markesh Woodson, who holds the men's record for the 60m dash.  Woodson has also made history several times during his career thus far, breaking the 60m record three times his freshman year before timing through for an SEC title with his best time of 6.60.  He tied that record last year, and added his name to the top of the 200m dash (21.13) list.  Woodson will take to the blocks in the 60m on Friday, and will look to continue climbing up through the national ranks with the hopes of securing a spot at the NCAA Championships in March.

Rounding out the list of current indoor school record holders is senior Kearsten Peoples.  Peoples holds the top marks in school history for the indoor and outdoor shot put, weight throw, and discus.  She opened her season last weekend in Kentucky, marking in with a pair of top-15 marks in the country for the shot put and weight throw.  Joining her in the shot put ring is fellow-senior Jill Rushin, who currently sits at No. 2 in the record books for the event.

A pair of outdoor school record holders will also take to the track this weekend, as sophomore Kaitlyn Fischer and senior Katrine Haarklau are featured in the 5000m run and pole vault, respectively.  Fischer closed out her freshman year at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, where she finished ninth in the 10,000m run with a new record time of 33:12.37.  Haarklau, who currently tops the record book for the outdoor pole vault (4.35m / 14-3.25), has sat at No. 2 for the indoor pole vault since 2013.  She, along with two-fellow top five all-time performers Alyssa Applebee and Maggie Givens, will look to continue closing in on the 12-year-old record by Jennifer Bennett (4.15m / 13-7.50).

A squad of exciting newcomers also highlights the Tigers' roster this weekend, with seven of the eight new All-Time Top Ten marks coming from debut seasons in the black and gold.  On the women's side, freshman Karissa Schweizer returned to competition after closing her cross country season at the NCAA Championships, clocking the ninth-fastest mile time in school history (4:46.75).

A pair of junior transfers have also made their marks in the history books, with Sandrae Farquharson and Alyssa Felton both timing the sixth-fastest marks in their respective events - the 400m dash (55.77) and 60m hurdles (8.72).

The men also saw an addition to the 400m dash top ten list, as freshman Jerrad Mason came through in 48.26 for the tenth-fastest time in school history.  Freshman Kwadarrius Smith opened up his career with the eighth-fastest time for the 60m dash, crossing in 6.86.  Closing out the new All-Time Top Ten list members is freshman John Warren, who landed at No. 7 in school history during his first triple jump competition of the season (15.37m / 50-5.25).

Other All-Time Top Ten performers in action this weekend are - Tony Carodine (triple jump) | Jonathan Ilori (triple jump) | Dan Roe (3000m run) | Kyle Smith (60m hurdles) | Ser Whitaker (60m hurdles, heptathlon) | Ayo Adewole (400m dash) | Alyssa Applebee (pole vault) | Maggie Givens (pole vault) | Morgan Whitson (pentathlon) | Danielle Williams (triple jump)
