BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the second consecutive week, junior Clark Thomas of the Mizzou men's swimming and diving team was honored by the Southeastern Conference as the Male Diver of the Week after sweeping the springboards against Drury on Jan. 23.
Thomas also earned weekly accolades from the SEC last week after taking both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards against South Carolina. He has now claimed SEC Male Diver of the Week honors three times in his career, as he also won the award on Jan. 7, 2014.
An Olathe, Kan., native, Thomas once again swept the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards in Mizzou's 133-81 dual win over 10-time defending Division II national Champion Drury last Friday. He scored a career high 426.23 points to win 3-meter, a tally three points better than his old personal best set on Oct. 31 against Missouri State. Thomas also posted a season best total of 386.85 on 1-meter, a score seven points better than his previous best this year and a little more than 10 points off his personal high. Thomas has totaled seven 1-meter crowns and six 3-meter titles during the 2014-15 season.
The Tigers close dual meet action on Thursday, Jan. 29 at Noon CT when the squad hosts Auburn on Senior Day at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. Admission to the meet is free.
