COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Tigers hosted their first of three home meets of the season on Friday, running the 29th edition of the Missouri Invitational in the Hearnes Center. The Tigers walked away from the second meet of 2015 with 20 personal record (PR) performances, eight event wins, one new All-Time Top Ten mark in the 60-meter hurdles by junior Alyssa Felton, and a new Missouri School Record at the hands of sophomore LaQuisha Jackson.

"This was another solid meet, building on what we did last week," Head Coach Brett Halter said. "We still have a lot of people running in off events, but are seeing great efforts across the board.  This is a team that's really sticking to the process that we teach as a staff, and that's exciting to see."

ON THE TRACK
Jackson returned after her school record performance at last weekend's Border Battle to, once again, knock the 60-meter dash record down a couple notches.  She bested her previous top time of 7.44 twice on Friday, crossing in 7.43 to win the preliminary round before going on to win the finals in 7.42.  Her final time of the day also ties the meet record, which has stood since 2009.

"I had a better start today," Jackson said. "I was more focused, I wasn't as nervous as I was last weekend.  It's a home meet, so I'm used to the track and I felt pretty good."

Felton also claimed a spot in the Mizzou record books in her second meet as a Tiger, clocking the sixth-fastest time in school history for the 60-meter hurdles.  Felton started her career in the black and gold last weekend racing an 8.99 in the event only to return on Friday and place second with a final time of 8.72.  This is a career-best for the transfer, who held a previous best of 8.74 from 2014.

The men's 60-meter hurdles saw another exciting finish, with junior Kyle Smith opening up his season with an event win.  Smith currently sits at No. 2 in the record books with his PR of 8.06.

The men's and women's mile saw a pair of winning efforts, with freshman Chris Mooneyham clocking in a PR of 4:17.85 for his second indoor meet in the black and gold.  On the women's side, sophomore Teylar Adelsberger cut a second off of her previous best, hitting 5:03.69 for her second mile of the season.

Other event wins came from junior Sandrae Farquharson in the 200-meter dash, freshman Valeska Halamicek in the 800-meter run, and sophomore Ben Goodman in the 800-meter run.  Coming in behind Goodman was freshman Jerrad Mason, who clocked through in 1:55.77 for his first 800 in over a year.  Mason paired that performance with a seventh-place finish in the 60-meter dash, earning a new PR of 7.05 during the preliminary round.

IN THE FIELD
Senior Maggie Givens was the lone winner for Mizzou in the field events, posting a final bar of 3.80m (12-5.50) in the pole vault.  She finished her competition with some good looks at the current meet record height, which has stood at 3.95m (12-11.50) since 2004.

Other noteworthy performances came out of the men's long jump, where triple jump specialists junior Tony Carodine and sophomore Thomas Taylor both earned new PR's.  Ahead of them was a fellow triple jumper, junior Jonathan Ilori, who placed third overall in the competition.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
The Tigers will be back on the road next week, traveling to Lexington, Ky., for the Kentucky Rod McCravy Meet on January 23-24.  Set to be one of the top competitions of the indoor season, this will be Mizzou's first test against some of the current nationally-ranked programs.

"It's a nice preview of the SEC venue," Halter said of the Rod McCravy Meet next week. "But more importantly, it's the national elite.  I suspect that, when the dust settles, it has the chance to be one of the top three meets in the country behind the SEC and NCAA Championships.  It has that kind of high-caliber, national-level field, and our elites are ready.  It'll be fun."
