COLUMBIA, Mo. - After a widely successful Fall 2014 campaign, Mizzou women's tennis begin their Spring 2015 season this weekend in the state of Texas. The Tigers compete at UT-Arlington on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. (CT), followed with a trip to TCU on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. (CT).

Head Coach Sasha Schmid and Assistant Coach Jason Potthoff begin their fourth season together at the helm of Mizzou women's tennis. Hopes are high for the Tigers this Spring 2015 season, as the team racked up over 50 wins and 10 event championships during the Fall 2014 campaign.
Mizzou is set to compete in 12 non-conference matches before their SEC opener on March 1 at Arkansas. The SEC is once again arguably the toughest women's tennis conference in the country, as seven teams are currently ranked in the ITA top-25 rankings.
Brianna Lashway and Alex Clark Lead Tigers In Fall Play
Among the 50 plus wins and 10 event championships during the Fall 2014 season, freshman Brianna Lashway and senior Alex Clark turned in the most impressive performances. Lashway paced the Tigers award winners, claiming an impressive four titles in her first season of collegiate tennis.
Lashway took home top singles honors at the 2014 Hoosier Classic and San Diego State Fall Classic, while also picking up doubles event wins with partner Alex Clark at the Mizzou Invite and San Diego State Fall Classic.
Clark not only shined in doubles play with Lashway, but also turned in outstanding play in singles competition. The London, England native went 7-3 during the fall season, and earned an event win at the Mizzou Invite along the way. Her three event wins placed second best among her Tiger teammates.
Even More Tigers Get A Piece Of The Winning Pie
Other first time Mizzou tennis players also competed well during the fall campaign, as sophomores Brittany Lashway and Bea Machado Santos each tallied two event wins themselves.
Junior Kelli Hine picked up two event wins in doubles competitions with a pair or Tiger partners. At the Mizzou Invite, Hine and sophomore Brittany Lashway took home the No. 2 doubles championship, while at the San Diego State Fall Classic she teamed up with Santos and earned the "Black" draw doubles title.
Before being sidelined with an injury, sophomore Cassidy Spearman was enjoying a solid Fall 2014 season, as she went 4-1 in singles play which included the No. 5 singles title at the Mizzou Invite. The sophomore concluded her action in doubles play nicely, finishing 2-1 at the Hoosier Classic with teammate Bea Machado Santos.
